Our Studio

Fuzzy space was born from Floor Fetish (link: floorfetish.net), our parent company that began in 2020 as a hobby; Just one person with creative curiosity and a tufting machine in my living room. This artistic escape quickly evolved into a full-time career in which I offer custom tufted pieces, my own works of art, and classes. Fuzzy Space existed solely as a concept, until late 2025, when we expanded outside of our home studio, and opened a location in the heart of NE Portland.

Our Classes

Our classes are open to all, and beginner friendly! We are dedicated to teaching you the process, slowing down, making things by hand, and sharing the art of tufting. Fuzzy space is a safe place to make a mess, play, experiment, and watch your ideas take shape. Our goal is to make tufting and art more accessible to everyone.

Discover your creativity through endless possibilities with tufting! You’ll submit your design before class, pick your yarn palette once you arrive, and receive hands-on guidance while you learn to tuft your rug. “This is apparently my newest & most favorite hobby! As a person who doesn't consider myself artsy or creative this was the exact perfect art form for me. Jordan said I'd get the hang of it in less than 30 minutes & then it just became super fun to use the tufting tools. Highly recommend! Do not pass up the opportunity to create something unique, fun & one of a kind!!”

“My friend and I had a wonderful time learning how to tuft our own rugs with Jordan. He was very kind and helpful and I instantly felt comfortable with him. It was such a fun few hours listening to chill music and tufting. I am absolutely delighted with how my rug turned out (Jordan trims and backs the rugs, and will even mail them to you!) I highly recommend this experience and would love to have the opportunity to do it again!”

“I had the pleasure of trying rug tufting for the first time in a Fuzzy Space. I was able to send Jordan my own design, which was setup on a canvas when I arrived for the first day of my 2-day class. Jordan explained the process clearly, gave me great tips on how to use the tufting gun and work through my design. Jordan adjusted his teaching style to my level of execution - I'm crafty and got a hang of using the tufting gun quickly. Jordan allowed me to get sucked into filling out my design while checking in to see how it was going at the right frequency for me. The conversation and tunes in between made the time in the studio that much more enjoyable. After my 2 day class, I not only left with a gorgeous rug that looked just how I wanted it to, but also the knowledge of how to make another and a strong desire to come back to the studio to create more one of a kind rugs for my home. I highly recommend a class at Fuzzy Space if you want to give rug tufting a try and want to leave with an amazing creation of your own design.”

“Couldn’t recommend Fuzzy Space more, we had an amazing experience, right off the bat with communication and flexibility on scheduling and payment. The class itself was even better; a hands on and personable time in the studio with Jordan. He showed us exactly how to work the gun, helped us when we needed it, and never once made us feel rushed. We had a really great time, hope to do it again soon!”

“If you’re interested in starting out, I highly recommend working with Jordan! The environment was peaceful and welcoming, Jordan is easy to talk to, very helpful and all around this was an extremely enjoyable experience! It’s wonderful to learn and work with someone who’s passionate about what they do. My wife and I came in to learn about tufting and left with a new friend and a new love for this art, my wife and I are obsessed now! 🥰”

“My friends and I had the best time learning from Jordan! We all had no tufting experience and we left with the cutest rugs that Jordan helped finish for us! Highly recommend his private lessons to anyone who’s looking to experience the art of tufting!”

“Absolutely loved my tufting session. I had gotten into it a while ago but didn’t have certain skills to feel confident in investing in all the equipment. Within the first 10 minutes I knew what I was doing wrong in the past and it motivated me to get my workshop setup. The tufting class was such a fun experience. There was everything I needed to accomplish my rug within the class time frame. Super excited to take more courses. This will definitely be a new hobby of mine. If you’re wondering if you should take the class, DO IT!”

“Fuzzy Space is hands down one of the coolest creative spots we’ve ever visited. My 13-year-old and I took a tufted rug workshop there, and it was such a fun, engaging, and empowering experience. The owner (Jordan) is absolutely amazing; patient, encouraging, and clearly passionate about helping people tap into their creativity. They made both of us feel totally at home, and were able to connect with my kid in a way that was thoughtful and respectful, which is no small feat with teens! The workshop itself was well-organized, and we both walked away with rugs we were proud of and memories we’ll hold onto. Whether you’re a total beginner or just looking for a fresh creative outlet, this place is a gem. Highly recommend Fuzzy Space to anyone looking for a welcoming, inspiring space to make something beautiful.”
